Day 8

Arrived early to Chicago and was able to get an earlier train to St Louis. Train 301 Lincoln Service. It’s cold here and there is snow on the ground. More snow is scheduled for later today, so I’m happy to get to St. Louis while it’s still daylight.

The overnight to Chicago was uneventful. I still haven’t figured out what’s the best way to get some rest. Would welcome any suggestions. I have a few more times to figure it out. The attendant on the train, Ro, was really good. She helped me to get power to recharge my phone. The dining room attendant was also good.

Snow was on the ground all the way to Springfield. In St Louis, it’s 43F and not due to rain until the evening, so I think I’ll walk the 1.2 miles to the hotel.

It was a nice walk, a bit damp but not too cold. My room wasn’t ready, so I went over to the Sugarfire Smokehouse for a late lunch. Very good bbq. Then I went to the Dome to watch volleyball. I think it’s girls high school. They’re very good.

My room is ready and I’m tired. Will continue tomorrow. But first, check out the tile pattern in the bathroom.
